SKETCHBOOK SERIES

MILANO 1968

We lost our dad when we were young, but he left us 40 years of design history hidden in his sketchbooks - page after page of products, drawn in the 60s & 70s but never made.

One-by-one I am reimagining them into the icons he always intended. A new one each episode.

Watch the series below.

PILOT - THE SKETCHBOOK

Our dad left us 40 years of design history hidden in his sketchbooks.

Marcello Minale helped shaped the identities of some of Italy's biggest fashion houses and worked with Achille Castiglioni on furniture for Zanotta. Today his work sits in the V & A museum.

Follow us as we open his lost sketchbooks for the first time and try to bring his scribbles to life.

OUR STORY

EP. 01 - 2SHADES

My dad designed this lamp over 50 years ago, but never got to build it. So I did.

Watch how 2SHADES started out as an idea well ahead of its time before I transformed it into a portable lamp - with a classic 60s silhouette and a futuristic core.

EP. 02 - 4SHADES

My dad sketched this pendant in 1971. Domus published it, but he never got to build it. 55 years later, I did.

At it's core sits a patented opal resin lens, it's glow borrowed from the tail lights of a Ferrari 308.
